About Free Kitchen
Welcome to Free Kitchen!
Here you’ll find delicious, wholesome food and drink that just happens to be gluten-free! Additionally, almost all the dishes are dairy-free, and most are free of other allergens and are labeled accordingly.
During the summer of 2010, I figured out that I am gluten intolerant. I’ve always been a good cook (and a healthy eater), and had considered having a cooking blog for some time. When I had to become gluten-free for life, I knew that the focus of the blog would be gluten-free cooking.
I believe that gluten-free cooking and eating doesn’t have to be complicated. Most foods in their natural state are gluten-free, and the world is full of millions of dishes that don’t involve gluten! So gluten-free cooking and eating is not limited at all! Generally, you won’t find converted baked goods or other similar recipes here. Rather, Free Kitchen is a collection of dishes that are either naturally gluten-free or are made so with a very simple substitution. I love cooking dishes from the Arab repertoire that I’ve grown up with, as well as trying dishes from other cultures and inventing some of my own.
You usually won’t find very detailed recipes here (because I cook from memory and using my senses, rather than according to strict measurements), but I will give you basic instructions on how to cook most dishes.
